Slinky you are a legend and as an aussie would say. 'good on ya mate'
I am using the s8 autoset sprit 11
Did as you said and got the data. Now I just have to try and understand it.
This is what I found.
Pressure 13 (presume average pressure used)
Leak 0.50 l (not sure if good or bad)
AHI 5.7 (total number of events per hr?)
AI 0.8
HI 4.9

used hrs 35 (got that)
usage 0005/0005 ( 5 days right)
7.06hr (average hrs used in a day)
Hrs 298 ( in total)

Its on autoset
min press 5
max 15.

My only concern is that on the other machines my AhI was down to 1.6 now it looks like it has gone up. what do you think may be the reason.

I am definately sold on this machine. Absolutely love it.

The reported pressure is the pressure AT OR BELOW which you spent 95% of the night. Or to put it another way, you spent 5% of your nights ABOVE 13 cms of pressure.

The same holds true for the reported leak. You spent 5% of the night at a leak ABOVE 0.50 L/s or to put it another way you spent 95% of the night AT OR BELOW that leak rate. (These are called the 95th percentile. - Respironics reports 90th percentile).

Ideally, the leak rate is below 0.4 L/s or 24 L/M (litres per second or litres per minute). This is ASSUMING that you have selected the CORRECT mask in the Mask Selection area. Resmeds automatically deduct the allowed vent rate from the reported leak rate for the various Resmed masks. If you aren't using a Resmed mask then the Mask Selection should be on Standard. The Standard mask selection deducts 0.4 L/s or 24 L/M. You have to check your non-Resmed mask literature for the allowed vent rate at your pressure and then do your own math to determine your true leak rate.

Assuming a Resmed mask at the correct Mask Selection 0.5 L/s is not all that too much but it is getting there. These current xPAPs can compensate quite nicely for leaks up to a point.

Yup, AHI=total of combined apenas & hypopneas per hour. We like to see an AHI <=5.0. Resmeds typically report hypopneas a little more aggressively than Respironics or Puritan Bennett.

That Usage of 00005/00005 works out as your having used your Resmed 5 nights AND it has been 5 nights since you first started using it. If you had skipped a night it would have read 00004/00005.
