The little clips up near the forehead pad of my ComfortGel have started popping out occasionally. I don't know why this is happening. Whether it is just worn down, broken, etc.
I think I vaguely remember a very small part somewhere on my ComfortGel but I can't find it now. This could just be my imagination, but I'd like to verify that my ComfortGel has all the parts and nothing has snapped off.
Is there a diagram of a disassembled ComfortGel or photos of the individual pieces anywhere? I looked at the pictures in the manual, but they don't show any detail of the areas I am interested in.

Re: ComfortGel Stability Selector
There are three reasons for this to happen.
1. The vertical piece that hooks onto the pad piece, has two ears, one may be damaged.
2. You may not be getting the ears seated in the crosspad section.
3. The crosspad section cracks making it able to bend, and out go the ears. Also the ends where the straps fit on the crosspad section crack off. Masks need to be treated gently.
The best solution is to get spare masks, and build up repair parts, most INS allow for a full mask no headgear at six months. Jim

Re: ComfortGel Stability Selector
I am in Ontario, Canada and am pretty sure I have to pay for any masks or parts out of my own pocket for the next while. I don't have any private insurance.
I know what you are saying but I couldn't see any cracks or damage to any of those areas.
The area where the top clips attach looks very insecure to me though. This made me think it was either very poorly designed, or I have lost a part.
A picture would be great, but barring that I will try to describe the issue. The stabilizer clips hook behind the hard plastic top crosspiece. Behind that, I only see the soft flexible forehead pad, so there is no firm backing for the clips. Basically, you can just push them directly back into the soft forehead pad and they will fall out through the back.
There is a little pressure outward from your head when the mask is in actual use, but this is still a lot of play with only the soft rubber padding to support the clips.
Am I missing a piece here, or is that how everyone's mask is?

Re: ComfortGel Stability Selector
Yes the little ears look insecure, but when they lock in, they hold. I have had trouble getting them to let go so I could wash the mask. I did have the one that broke at the "T" plastic where the strap fastened, and another one that the "T" piece that held the silicone padding snapped, if it's broken there it won't stay hooked. I broke mine by having the top strap tightened up too much. When moving around the strain can be higher than the mask can take.
The only options are patch it. (Epoxy), Buy a new mask or replacement parts. Or get another brand mask and find a whole new set of problems to deal with. Jim
