You can solve most of the "M"agics problems, with one modification. Wrap a towel around your arm, Put the "M" on your arm secure it with Duct Tape, if you own a motorcycle use 200 MPH type Duct Tape, Go to Wal-Mart, buy a cheap Timex, Duct tape it over the blue leds. The only thing you can't fix is it's missing data syndrome. That's not a concern as the manufacturer, doesn't know about that problem either.

As far as the "N" series, it's pretty neat, it do longer used a hose from the machine to the mask. You just have to sleep with the mask over the outlet.

The problem is that ALL of the electronic equipment in my room has some kind of "glow"!!! The alarm clock on my nightstand glows a grey-ish color, the telephone base has a red dot that glows pretty brightly, the husband's alarm clock glows orange and the M-Series adds its bright blue glow! It's a regular rainbow of colored lights in my bedroom each night!!!!! LOL!!

By-the-way...the "M" in the model name refers to "Mini", according to my DME provider. It is apparently smaller than previous models. I've only had mine for 6 weeks, so I'm a newbie. Learning fast, tho!!! On my third mask in 6 weeks!!! Leaks, pressure sores, squeaking swivels....so many problems...can't they design a quiet mask that doesn't leak or cause pressure sores????? Latest mask will be tried tonight for the first time....ResMed Mirage Liberty FF mask. Hope the lights and leaks don't keep me up all night!!!

And what about the "sexiness' factor?! LOL!!! What a mood breaker!!!! No more middle-of-the-night snuggles, I guess. Unless hubby can get over the appearance of having an ICU intubated patient in the bed with him!! LOL!!

To all the PAP manufacturers....get rid of the glow!!!!

Cheers!!

Good luck with that. I went through a few different ones and settled on the Liberty. For the most part it's good. Nothing over the eyes, no sores, comfortable. But I still have some leaking. Since they all seem to have one problem or another, I'm experimenting with making my own. Got the silicone casting down and am starting with the nasal pillows first. Tonight will be the first night with my pillows on the Liberty mask. If that goes well, maybe I'll get ambitious and do a mask that fits right and doesn't leak.

Once I thought I was wrong, but I was mistaken.

When I found the lights too bright, I put a page from a sticky-note pad on top. It stuck ok and blocked the light enough that it didn't bother me but showed enough light that I can hit the buttons THROUGH the paper. After a while the sticky ran out so i taped it down. Been there ever since.

Exactly what I do. The machine even travels with it's own sock!

Now there's an idea. I like that one. Thanks

mfbower...you are GENIUS!! <<<When I found the lights too bright, I put a page from a sticky-note pad on top. >>>

I LOVE IT!! I am definitely going to go get some sticky notes right now and put them on my machine!!!! I love that you can push the buttons right through the paper because it glows just enough to see the buttons!!!!

See...THIS is why I LOVE support forums!!! Users are wayyyyyy smarter than the designers!!!!

I put mine near the floor beside the bed (about 10 inches) so the light doesn't bother me anymore - and it helps with rainout : )

Notice they put the non-backlighted LCD underneath the little door?

Why do you need to cover up a LCD and leave 3 bright blue buttons uncovered? The conclusion you can come to is they were going to add one of those digital clocks on the ceiling then realized the machine doesn't have a real-time clock chip to keep time.

machine was designed by a bunch of idiots, no wonder they sold the company.
BWAHAHAHAH a clock on the ceiling, you're killing me! No it was probably designed by a marketing intern with the help of some moronic ass-kissing manager who wanted to meet some BS deadline or blow the boss. What a POS. Hard to believe that any company could ignore how bright and annoying these lamps are, then deliver such a piece of crap to the field. Did they ever think to see how it looked in a dark room? People hate these units, I mean HATE them. I keep suggesting the black vinyl tape solution.

Look on the "bright" side, with an M Series these problems don't last long, the blower will die soon, the software will crash, the humidifier will fall apart, one drop off a nightstand and its tits up. Then you can replace it with an S8.

I have never even considered the lights as a bother. The machine is actually very close to me during the night but I never considered the lights a problem. I guess some people are just more sensitive to that sort of thing.

My husband loves his lights and I hate mine and cover them. Consequently his half of the ceiling is lit up and my half is nice and dark. We both keep our machines near the floor.

I don't remember who posted it....or I'd give all props where they belong...but the sticky notes taped over the lights are GENIUS!!! You can see the lights underneath well enough to turn on/off, ramp on, etc, etc, but the lights become dim enough to not offend sleepers like me who need total darkness! I have found that a double layer of post-it's, taped at two ends to keep them in place, work PERFECTLY!!!

Thank you, thank you, thank you to the poster who suggested that remedy!!! Now my M series does not wake me up at night with the bright LED's!!!!

Oh..and I only need one layer of post-it's over the tiny light on the humidifier.

It is amazing how simple solutions are the best remedies!!

I do recall the blue light bothered me when I first got it.

I think this wonderful machine works so well that I now sleep so soundly
that even the outdoor motion alarm flood lights no longer wake me.

I am also thrilled with the post-it notes over the stupid lights. They really bothered me but now I'm ok with them. Truly genius!! Can't remember either who posted it but thank you!!
