Just a quick question about altitude settings

Post by deepurpleprincess » Fri Aug 15, 2008 2:11 am

I live in florida right now, but I may be moving to Montana in a few months. I know the altitude is different there. Doesn't anybody know what setting my machine should be if I move up there? How does altitude effect the cpap machine? I just know nothing about this. Thanks

Just find out what the altitude it is where you will be. This link will take you to the User guide, section 4 page 7 tells you the settings.

Curios. The later models of M-series has auto altitude adjustment. So I cannot experimentally find the answer to my question. What exactly does the altitude adjust do? For example, if you set the altitude adjustment to 2, and the machine is at a lower elevation for that of 1, would you see a pressure change if you measure the pressure?

I have used my Mseries up to 8000 ft and I didn't notice any difference in the pressure output. I think they are self compensating up to a point. You will notice the thinner air at altitude if you have a lung problem. Good luck on the move. jim
