red haired Vikings and ...

I bet they ate herring, which is highly beneficial for O's. Try a can of herring.
You could ask the Viking Answer Lady:

So that would explain the red hair. And the red hair explains...?

Do you have painful aerophagia? I don't believe you said that at the start of this thread, just that you have a slow transit time. I love to eat, but I am seeing it helps to change a little bit to accomodate - at least, not to eat solid food for 5 hours before bed. I hate it, in fact, and yet - I seem to be feeling better, so -

YES! the onioins (or roasted bell peppers) will go a long way to satisfying the sweet tooth, and will make you feel fantastic! Another key to good digestion is food combining. Melon - eat it alone or leave it alone. You can eat meat with leafy vegetables or you can eat leafy vegetables with starchy carbs, but you can't eat starchy carbs with meat (and expect to digest well). that's the Reader's Digest condensed version. I used to have a chart on my fridge my colon therapist gave me - it's very helpful to know what goes with what.

Now you know in your body what I was talking about with my stories about how different foods affect the system, and how one can tune into the body's sense of what fuels work best for one's body. Isn't that cool to eat a meal and know it hit the spot in a profound way?
OutaSync wrote: No bread for two days. What's with the avacados? I always thought they were one of the super foods and with this diet they are on everybody's AVOID list.
Funny, huh? I know. Certain foods on my avoid list make me feel obviously bad, in different ways. Avocados make the inside of my mouth hurt as if from a mild chemical burn. I eat a littel once in a while, like guacamole - but only a litle and rarely.

There are tradeoffs here: you may give up certain things, but look at what you can gain: for example, if you can get great quality red meat, you can eat as much meat as you want as a type O, and the more meat you eat, the faster you'll lose weight.

Who knew?

We'll laugh about this someday; we might as well start now.

Darned if I know. Lunch today was 3 ounces of chopped chicken with avocado mayonnaise. IE, mash avocado smooth, add lemon juice to keep it from browning, add salt (if desired), and white pepper to taste. Add enough avomayo to the chicken to make the consistency chicken salad you want. Add other veggies if you want. Serve on pecan souffle bread slices.

<shrug> I eat like a Type O, but I'm Type A -- trying to eat like a Type A would kill me.

I've eliminated my IBS, and lost 180 pounds (without bariatric surgery) over the last 7 years. Don't think I'll be changing the way I eat any time soon!

Cashews. Costco jar of cashews $10 bucks.

I use them as dog treats and treat my self while I'm at it, but Sir Farts-a-lot and myself are regular as a result. He can on command, sit, roll over, shake hands, wave bye bye and just be a wuss. He loves cashews, I have always trained him on them, he can hear me unscrew the lid and he is right at my side.

Why just today the PG&E guy came in the back yard to read the meter, he starts barking like crazy as the guy came back around the pool he challenges him (big strong brave motorcycle riding dog he is), the meter reader says "hello puppy" he stops barking rolls over on his back and surrenders.
someday science will catch up to what I'm saying...

Avocados are full of monosaturated fats. Like olive oil. Fat has been demonized in the last 60 or so years. But hey, everything's done low fat, and the world's getting fatter. My diet is around 55% fat... and I'm losing weight, have normal cholesterol and triglycerides. Drove the cardiologist screaming because he was sure I couldn't do a treadmill for five minutes. Not only did his treadmill, had to slow down because I was walking too fast. I'd like to throw him in the swimming pool at the fitness center and dare him to match my three hour workout three times a week!

I highly recommend water therapy and/or tai chi for any plus-sizers. In both, the movements I was taught are slow and easy (well, except for Golden Chicken Stands on One Leg in tai chi!) and great at building stamina.
