At my company HR won't even let us know if a co worker is in the hospital so we can send a get well card.
Birth announcements are also a no-no.
I understand and approve of what HIPPA is supposed to do, but if your workplace is supposed to be a second family, HIPPA sure makes it so impersonal.......
