Well yesterday I did go pick up my cpap machine. It is a REMstarPlus M series. The mask they gave me isn't the one I got so am not happy about that but they said I had to try it for at least 3 weeks then I can exchange it I currently have the Mirage Swift II. I hate it, this thing is so uncomfortable to me and it not only hurts the nose area but makes my teeth hurt too (just having to get a bridge put in the front teeth) so this is just making me happy, Sigh!!
I didn't even get an hour in last night....shame on me!! Tonight I will do my darndest to keep it on...too many runs to the rest room last ight so I just couldn't keep it on for long. Now is the numerous trips to the bathroom normal when first using cpap? Hmmmm....inquiring minds want to know...LOL
Wondering if anyone has any experience with the mask swift lt? How is the quietness/loudness, does it leak alot? Is it light and comfortable to use?
Not sure if I can get the Swift LT the place (DME) I'm going through is Resperonics Plus here in Grapevine Texas.
Just got my new cpap

Many of us experience multiple nighttime trips to the bathroom BEFORE beginning cpap therapy and have a decrease or elimination of those trips with successful therapy. You probably had to go many times because you woke so often. The body wakes up and the brain thinks, hmm must need to go pee.
If you stick with a nasal pillows type mask, your nostrils will likely toughen up quickly. I recommend you go to the drugstore and purchase some Ayr saline nasal gel (usually in the section where the nasal sprays are). Using some around the outside of your nostrils nightly will help the nasal pillows seal and will help any sore spots heal.
Some people on this forum who use the Swift II may be able to give you some tips regarding the problems you are having with it.
Good luck.

Welcome ritakj,
Regarding the Swift II, try adjusting the headgear straps. Loosen the one in the back a bit & tighten the one on top to take up the slack. This should help reduce the pressure on the upper lip & teeth.
You might also have the straps too tight to begin with, they should be just tight enough to prevent leaks. Keep adjusting the straps till it feels right.
That said, I used to use the Swift II, now I have the Swift LT & I do like it much better.

I'm just a few days ahead of you and I have the Swift LT. The titration study was done with the prior model which is I think the one you have. I like the LT quite a bit so far. I have worked up to keeping it on for 7 hours (last night). I use a chin strap with it because I mouth breathe. I have a different CPAP machine - I went through Sleep Centers of Texas in Arlington (I live in the HEB area, so you're fairly close!)
Can't answer about the RR visits - I had an eensy bladder before cpap! If anything I'm more likely to try & put it off as long as possible now to avoid unhooking.
