First night with CPAP

Post by rocketdork » Fri Aug 08, 2008 12:17 pm

I had my first night of "sleep" with my CPAP machine. It took forever to fall asleep, but I don't recall waking up a lot. A little sleepy today, but not any more than normal, so I guess that's good.

I'll have to work on adjusting the mask a little better. The bridge of my nose is a bit sore and red.

The fun part was when I woke my Sig. Other this morning...she said "you can't use that machine any more...I can't sleep, its TOO QUIET".

LOL. Enough people have said their partners took a bit of time to get used to the quiet that I asked my hubby what his experience was. He said it is really odd to wake up in the night and have it be quiet.

Heya rocketdork,

My wife too said the same. She now even pokes me to see if I am alive (exagerating).

First night's rough for sure, but it does get better.

Too funny! I hope my hubby can come back in the bedroom soon, he has been in the guest room for the last year due to very loud snoring, I went in to check on him at 2:45 am (first night on machine) and there was no snoring just a quiet whooshing sound from his machine. So maybe he can come back to our room soon!
Good luck to you!

Now that my GF's on the hose, I can relate. No more snoring, jerking around in bed, and gasping for breath.....thank God.

My husband says he checks me anytime he wakes up to see if I am still breathing. He also says that any noise coming from any part of the equipment doesn't bother him in the least.
