OK . . .I am upset now...Resmed Elite II
Well, I think it's what you get used to reading. I started out on Encore Pro (Respironics) and it's always seemed easy to figure out. Others like the Silverlining by Puritan Bennett, however, I have to admit my eyes kind of glaze over trying to figure out all those squiggly lines.
If you'll also notice in ozij's post.....you can get the data downloaded with a PC cable......so apparently you don't need a card reader.
Via ResScan Data Card: 180 sessions of
summary data, five sessions of detailed data
Via PC cable: 365 sessions of summary data,
five sessions of detailed data.
How soon are you moving?

Moving within a couple of months. Okay, at the risk of asking an even dumber question where do I get a pc cable and wouldn't I still need some kind of software.
You know, it might behoove me to step out there and go ahead and read the user manual before I start asking anymore questions. LOL
I really don't like to read instructions. For some odd reason I think I am smart enough to figure things out without reading about them!

Some one posted that they bought version 3.3 and the card reader (found out it would not work with the Elite II) and called ResMed and they gave them a free upgrade to 3.5. I can't remember who it was because I don't have a ResMed product but you might call and ask!

Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting: "Wow what a ride!"

3.5 seems to only be available in Australia and Resmed will send it out free-of-charge.
Data can be downloaded using either a card and reader OR a USB adapter and cable - obviously the card and reader is more convenient.
The software is better than the LCD because it shows you WHEN the events took place, not just a summary of the nights sleep.

I agree .... they are not difficult to read.billbolton wrote:The "reports" are not difficult to read at all and do provide more information available on the LCD display.skjansen wrote:Perhaps I do not need the software if the reports are difficult to read.

If you are not happy with your titration or level of treatment, the software is very useful for determining leak issues and optimizing pressure to make the treatment as good as it can be.
President-pretender, J. Biden, said "the DNC has built the largest voter fraud organization in US history". Too bad they didn’t build the smartest voter fraud organization and got caught.

skjansen,
You can order software and cardreader and data cards online at cpap.com then call email support in Austraila for the updated 3.5 software. They will send it to you free, no questions as to whether you are a medical professional or just a client. I even told them I was just a client who knew I needed to be able to track my progress if I were going to be compliant for any length of time. They are very good. They are also quick. I think I went to support.au?
The software gives you, not only summary graphs, leak, statistics, AHI, AI and HI events per hour but can also give you other reading such as oxygen, flow, etc.
What I like best is the the Detailed graph shows every apnea and how long it lasts. It shows at what point of the night you have them and if they are in clusters and/or separate. You can compare different nights data to see fluctuations or progress. I think the detailed graphs are the most accurate to getting what is happening while you are sleeping.
If I hadn't gotten the software, I may have given up by now as I am still struggling to stay awake. I still have hope, however, because I am determined to keep track with my readings and get my apneas lowered and hopefully eventually eliminated.
You won't be sorry if you get the software. Just make sure you contact support in Australia to get the free updated version of Rescan 3.5 which is needed for Vista.
If your system is a 64, I don't know if it will work. It works on my 32 vista cpu but not on my new 64 laptop with vista. I will have to check to see if they have a driver to fix that.
The software is very easy to read if you know what the terms mean. It tells you in the side bar what each graph is for.
There is also a video from ResMed site that shows what the graph lines look like and what the changes in the graph lines mean.
Having the software takes you out of the dark. It makes it easier to be compliant when compliancy gets tough.
Best to you,
Anne
