shipping charges on orders

Post by clk-5@comcast.net » Tue Aug 05, 2008 1:38 pm

Comment:

I just ordered a luggage tag for my cpap machine. To save on shipping I requested it be mailed through regular 1st class mail. Package weight should be less than 1 pound and probably only a few ounces and luggage tag should fit in an envelope. I expected to see a significant reduction in the shipping costs but no this greedy company charged me the regular $7 UPS/FedEx shipping rate for what will cost around $1.00 to mail.

I will remember this greed and when I order my hose cover next month I will be sure to buy from a different company. Future orders for cpap supplies will be from other companies.

I am now a former customer.

You didn't say WHICH company.......
But, if you're referring to cpap.com, I've never known them to use USPS to ship supplies.
Just because you WANTED it shipped that way doesn't mean they were going to do it the way YOU wanted it. Sounds to me like you didn't check things out very well ahead of time and now you're mad at yourself......and verbally trying to take it out on them.

Stupid is as stupid does. Chalk it up to "education" expenses.

Where I live, $7 is UPS' minimum charge for the smallest weight package (1 lb.) for their lowest cost service (ground).

I know because we send packages to our college student and I take the packages to the UPS hub near us.

That aggressive statement makes you either 1) stupid or 2) a competitor trying to bad mouth cpap.com. Or both. I vote for both.

If you were a customer.
In any case, don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.

So you just order one small, light weight item a month? Riiiiight.

I'll bet Walmart/Target/etc have luggage tags. But at $5/gal for gas, that $7 shipping charge saved you money. You should thank cpap.com for saving you money!

BTW, I waited until I had enough items to qualify for free shipping.

OK, now I got it. That post just demonstrated how dumb some brick-and-mortar DME employees are. (Not all.) The dumb ones think they can trick us. Good help is hard to get. And he ain't it.

"I drove all the way across town and back at $5/gal, and paid twice as much as if I bought it on the internet, and I paid sales tax. But I saved on shipping." lol

The shipping price is not a secret and it is a simple flat rate until you reach the threshold for free shipping.

Flat rate shipping is is not at all abnormal. Some places even charge a flat rate for the first item and then an additional smaller charge for each additional item.

Hint: You could probably get a similar custom engraved plastic luggage tag from a local office supply store.

You owe each one of us seven dollars, who wasted our time, reading your whine.

BTW: Cheese and Whine, will raise your AHI. Jim

It's not very effective, to badmouth a company, and not state who they are, but it's harder for them to prove liable against you.
