Crossfit, you have done your homework, haven't you? Believe it or not, some people (mumble-crssft-mumble) actually READ the things that have been organized for new people. That said, reading that section was overwhelming for me as a newbie. Thus, I posted duplicate questions.crossfit wrote:I would say that this IS an advice board. If you need something specific, check the yellow lightbulb or the red question mark for the collective wisdom and FAQ's. Maybe we could update the collective wisdom periodically but I see no need for another board.
I have been on apap for 10 days and doing great thanks to the information on those parts of this site. Anything that wasn't there was answerable by people in this part of the forum. Then there is also help files on the cpap.com site that hosts us.
In the process of addressing my issues, I quickly learned which members' opinions I found represented a fair and balanced opinion. These names I found were best for me to flag mentally when seeing them post.
Anyone can nominate a post for inclusion in the "Our Collected Wisdom" section, the icon of which is a yellow light bulb. Administrator(s) then evaluate the post and it is either accepted or rejected.
Thus, I feel that we already have a new person's page. Maybe the problem is that it doesn't seem to be presented properly? Or, to accommodate various thinking styles, maybe we need multiple ways of linking to that section of the forum.
I also heartily agree with Catnapper, as I have often learned more from a seemingly unrelated thread than in looking for a specific topic. The "other" forums are difficult to follow/find an answer, IMHO, which is why I almost always here. Beside which, there is ALWAYS the chance of humor cropping up.
With this bunch of Forum Folk, who wants to miss anything? Karen,
Who wonders if spam
REALLY is spam?
