i've hired a f&p machine and have used it the past few nights for increasing periods with no problem (two nights uninterrupted! yay!) but tonight when i switched it on something seemed wrong.
the pressure was irregular/surging erratically and the machine was making an odd noise... kinda like the noise a kettle makes when it's just stating to think about boiling.
this was within about 5 seconds of turning the machine on.
blocking mask/nose pillow stopped it entirely. unplugging lug or tube from mask does nothing. didn't get to trying unplugging mask from tubing, BUT unplugging tubing from humidifier makes it (seem) to stop.
machine is hired, mask is new. humidifier has been topped up with destilled water tonight.
my partner notes that there were a couple of drops of water down the back of the machine where the intake is... he's wondering if that may have caused it.
unfortunately because of the machine design i don't know if i can pull the humidifier out and plug the tubing into the machine directly to see if that is where the problem is or not.
so... end of ramble. any ideas, suggestions? (i hope someone is around, it's 2 am here and i'm exhausted.)
ETA: seems to have resolved itself for the time being at least, so heading to bed... but any input would still be more than welcome.
*crawls off to hide under the covers till lunch time or so*
