2500 hours on the hose!

Post by mindy » Mon Jul 07, 2008 7:31 am

Hi all,

I hit a milestone this weekend - 2500 hours on CPAP (11 months)

It's still a bit of a mask struggle some nights (and yes, I have a drawer-full of masks!) but overall I have more energy, feel more rested and my co-workers would probably tell you that my disposition has improved most of the time.

I have absolutely no regrets about sticking with this therapy and I much prefer it to taking pills and such. I'm still waiting for the perfect mask but in the meantime the many terrific ideas and thoughts on this forum have kept me going when the going has gotten rough.

I would love to say I have been 100% compliant as some of you have, but there have been a few nights (not many) when I threw my mask across the room and fell asleep. I wouldn't trade my cpap machine for a million dollars.

Best,
Mindy

I have 8850 hours on my cpap, 4 years worth. The only night I was noncompliant was for hurricane Rita, when I had no electricity for one night.
I haven't made arrangements yet for loss of electricity, I suppose I need to.

I only have 110 hours, less than a month in cpap, took off my mask one night for one hour and I started to think in the 7feet under dirt so I put it back on.
