Experienced Dizziness

Post by Mr Tired » Thu Jul 07, 2005 5:09 pm

I recently did a sleep test & then went back for another test with the CPAP machine. When I got up in the morning I was somewhat dizzy & my ears hurt. Is this what I have to look forward to???
I haven't purchased a machine yet. I want to do a lot of research, including doing a lot of reading on this forum, to educate myself as much as possible.
Has anyone experienced dizziness from using the machines?

Yes, this is happening to me as well. Not sure of the cause, posted a question here but can't find the post for some reason. It isn't as much dizziness as it is kinda feeling like someone knocked me in the back of the head and has their hand over my face! Prretty weird!

I had this happen when I first started on CPAP, and I think it may have something to do with the positive airway pressure and the inner ear. It didn't last long, and have not experienced it since.

I noticed this too the first few mornings after using the machine. My RT said it might be from the additional O2 which our bodies are not yet accustomed to having? The same thing happens when you drink fresh carrot juice too fast when you arent used to it. All those nutrients flooding into your system can make you a bit dizzy.

But if the dizziness persists, be sure to tell your sleep Dr. about it as it might indicate that the pressure was too high (as it usually is during a titration study.)
