Best place to buy REMstar M series software & card reade

Post by SKInouye » Sun Jun 29, 2008 3:38 am

I just switched to the Auto M Series CPAP with A-flex and the DME provder actually got me a machine with a Smart Card. Of course I want to be able to view the data on my own, but I'm not sure where to start.

What software should I be looking for --- name, version, etc?

What card reader should I be looking for --- name, item #?

Where can I get the best deals on both?

BTW... I love, love, love the A-Flex! I had a REMstar M series CPAP with C-Flex and I definitely can tell the difference between the C and the A.

Thanks for your help!

Hello & Welcome, SKInouye! Glad you found this forum--SO much useful info and SO many helpful people here!

cpap.com has a bundled package that includes the software and the reader you'll need. And, they price match, so if you find a better deal elsewhere, that match it.

does anyone know if the software works (well) with Vista?? I didn't realize when I bought my laptop that Vista was, hmmmm, rather quirky. Anyone have any experience here?

It is supposed to run on VISTA (though I haven't tried it--staying with XP for now!). From cpap.com's product description:
"Windows®-compatible PC with Pentium III or later processor running Windows XP Home SP2 or Windows Vista Home"

Encore Viewer software does work with Vista. I loaded it on my Vista computer in February and it has worked, with no problems, so far.

I originally had the Encoreviewer software loaded on one of my XP machines. When that machine was taken out in May by lightening, I loaded the software on my new Vista machine. I haven't had any problems running the software with Vista...I wish I could say the same about some of my other software.

The best place for EncorePro 1.8 is Bittorrent. If you're looking for viewer and the card reader combo, the price is $139 from DirectHomeMedical.com. CPAP.com will match if you want to go that way.

Geesh, A straight answer, who'd have guessed?
