I take it every day-- 200 mg I believe. well, the goal is to take it every day...

it makes me more alert---- I find it makes a HUGE difference.

it does, however, make me more alert at night as well..

I just started on a sample pack. Yesterday was my first day on it and was
less grogy but had a little trouble going to sleep last night. Well I don't
have insurance and the darn stuff cost $320 per month so I may not be
taking it after all. As I said in an earlier post daily exercise helps the quality of my sleep a great deal so I am going to get back on the daily
exercise thing. Heck I need the exercise because of my diabetes any way!

I had a very positive experience with Provigil. I took it from May to August 2007. I could only tolerate 1/2 a pill. And I went off it cold turkey with no ill effects.

Everyone is different. Your mileage WILL vary.

I've been taking it for about 3 weeks. Doc gave me two sample packs and I had them call in a prescription.

OUch..even with insurance it cost me over $130 !!!

I've been taking 1/2 a pill in the morning and 1/2 in the afternoon. I see that my resting pulse increases about 20 bpm. It seems to help a little bit but wears off in 4 or 5 hours.

I'm leery of taking the whole pill in the morning because I'm afraid it might raise my pulse even more and, since it isn't a time release capsule, be worn off in only 5 hours. According to the retail price it cost $11.20 per pill!!!!!

I'm disappointed that it doesn't help more than it does and longer.

Don't think I will fill another script for this stuff. Not at that price.

I was checking it out on the net and found some people get it from India for $2 a pill ... that's more reasonable.

I was taking it daily in January and Febuary before I was on/compliant with cpap. I found I needed more over time to get the same effect but it made the differance between me not being able to work and working a full shift. I started with 1/2 200mg pill in the morning then one in the morning and one at lunch. The best was a whole one in the morning and half at lunch didn't keep me up at night but got me though the whole day.
I only take it now if I had problems with the cpap the night before it makes me alert enough to make a living. If my insurance didn't cover it though I wouldn't be taking it. I pay $60 a month for the amount I took in Febuary better now that I only take it about once a week.
