The mask dilemma!

Post by stetsongirl » Mon Jul 04, 2005 7:13 pm

Well, I loved my comfort curve for about 7 days, then out of the bluee it started leaking like crazy. My manager, an RT, put me on a Tiare AirPilot. That definitely doesn't leak, but the headgear and mask are cumbersome and I wake up during the night in a panic and sweating like crazy - inside the mask! So next he put me on a Respironics Profile Lite. We, that was a joke, leaks everywhere. I'm much to clostrophobic to have my nose covered up, and my head felt like it had a cap on it - well I guess it did! Does anyone have the F & P afininity? Nasal Aire? and what is the dif between NA and NA2?

No, just the 3 I've mentioned. The Respironics Rep is sending me one of the new headgears for the comfort curve to see if it helps. Supposedly it was redesigned due to the massive leaks being reported. I'll let ya'll know if that works. The company I work for only lets us order from Respironics unless the pt has a doctor script for a different name brand. I thought I'd call various sales reps to come in and give us an inservice on what they have available and get some sample masks from them.
