Goodnight 420E Setting Question

Post by Brian000 » Sat Jun 07, 2008 1:20 pm

I have a 420E and know how to get into the therapy mode, but there's a setting which I don't know the meaning of.

When I click through the settings, it's the second last one which comes up immediately preceding the ID (software version). It has an arrow at the top and bottom of the screen, and is currently set at 142.

Can anybody enlighten me as to what this adjusts?

Many thanks!

It's a pressure calibration setting. You don't really care if your pressure number is objectively right - all you want is to set the machine for the proper pressure to treat your OSA, which is why you don't need this setting.

If you don't have the Silvelining software yet you really should get it - it will give you much important data to help you tweak your therapy.

Calibrating the machine is important only when you want to carry over its recommended pressure settings to another machine (which has to be calibrated too) or when you want to set this machine at a pressure recommended by another machine (hopefully calibrated).

I would not touch this setting .

In case you're wondering: the 420E has automatic altitude adjustment, and this calibration setting has nothing to do with it.

Okay -- thanks. So, is this the setting that one would use with a monometer to ensure that the pressure at the mask is the same as what the machine is set at?
