Headgear slipping

Post by windbreather » Tue May 27, 2008 8:04 am

I need suggestions as to what to do about my headgear slipping. I am not sure what is happening, but I wake up numerous times because my ComfortClassic nasal mask has moved up, pushing against the bottom of my nose and covering my tear ducts. I am on my third mask and like it - I have the small size because the mediums were too big and covered my tear ducts. I wake up with my upper eyelids swollen I wash my maks, and don't use moisturizer before going to bed. My husband seems to think it might be my hair that is causing the slipping of the head gear. I am very frustrated. so any help will be greatly appreciated.

You could also try wearing some kind of night cap beneath the headgear (especially if the night cap has some sort of strap to go under your chin to keep it in place).

In a previous post a month or two ago, someone suggested Under Armour skull cap ... I now use that and it works well for me. It stays put because the elastic part fits over my pony tail so no strap under the chin is needed to keep it in place.

I've heard of folks using "doo-rags" and just recently saw where someone basted a scrap of terry cloth, or a wash rag to their headgear.

Thanks for the great suggestions! I am going to give the washcloth a try.
