Cleaning Aussie hose

Post by vesselpessel » Mon May 26, 2008 5:30 pm

What's the best way to clean the Aussie hose. I seem to have misplaced the directions that came with the hose but i know that it can't be submerged in water. Thank you.

If you feel you must clean it (the instructions strongly suggest that you really don't need to in the normal course of events) this will work....
  • Get a hose connector

Put some diluted white vinegar in the hose

Connect the ends togther with the hose connector

Swish the fluid around in the nose for a while

Disconnect the ends of the hose and empty it out

Repeat the above steps with plain water, to rinse

Hang the hose up to dry for several hours
Cheers,

Bill

And, no doubt Bill's finger slipped, swish the fluid around in the hose for a while... won't do you any good swishing it in the nose.

These are the cleaning directions they e-mailed to me a year and a half ago. Since I never bought the Aussie hose, I have no direct experience with it.

CLEANING : clean ONLY the interior of the SleepZone heated CPAP tube (DO NOT immerse the tube) the simplest method is to use 2 small plastic bags or cling film secured with rubber bands … after adding a small amount of water or highly diluted disinfectant eg (mouthwash) secure the ends with the plastic bags and “slosh” the liquid around inside the tube . Rinse in the same manner then hang to drain and dry. Sponge clean the outside insulating cover as required. Cleaning CPAP tubing is a personal Hygiene matter. Some users rarely clean their tubing.
