Opinions needed on best nasal pillow mask

Post by dab » Wed May 21, 2008 9:28 pm

I get real sore with the ultra mirage II nasal mask , I think if I can get a nasal pillow mask I could be alot more comftorable if I could find one that doesnt leak, I have a 15 pressure I am not so good with all the cpap lingo scince this is my third day. I am unsure if different pressure matters when it comes to choosing a comftorable setup, any input would be appreciated.

My pressure is only 11cm but I have used the same B&P Breeze mask and nasal pillows for the last 6 years.
It is important though to have the head holding the pillows positioned at the correct angle. The head has a locking bolt to hold it at the best angle for the individual.

I only have one song to sing. I guess that makes me a One Trick Pony, huh?

Nasal Aire II. If you're interested enough, PM me, and I'll add you to my "Test Drive".

You can read all about it here:

I run the highest pressures of anyone on the forum and the Swift II nasal pillows work for me. I wear them out kind of fast, due to the high pressures I guess, because I had a Respironics BiPap Auto and with it, the Swift I nasal pillows lasted a LONG time.

SO ... if you are on CPAP, titrated at 15 cmH2O, that is a fairly high pressure and the Swift II should be able to handle it without leaks. At 30cmH2O for 30 straight minutes, my leak rate was well within the manufacturer tolerances.
OK, I fudged a bit, the Swift II chart doesn't go to 30, but if you extend it in a linear fashion, I am well within their leak tolerances.

AND my wife and I both have been on them for over 2 years.

Good luck with your search....Dave

Installing Software is like pushing a rope uphill.
I have Encore Pro 1.8.65 but could not find it listed
under software.

I LOVE the SV.

ditto on the swift II - I switch from auto to straight cpap and my press. is around 11.6 - I'm also under the understanding that they've come out with a new smaller swift nasal pillow mask...

Opus 360

Hello,

I am pretty new to CPAP (only 2 weeks, 12cm pressure) and I absolutely love my Fisher and Paykel Opus 360 nasal pillows. Good seal, very minimal and comfortable headgear, and the 360 degree free-rotating attachment it great, because you can fix it up high (over your head) or to one side if you like. I leave it free, and shift from my back to my sides while I sleep, and have not had any problems. Very comfortable pillows, and it's one of the more minimal in terms of cost...
