I live in London Ontario and I'm looking to replace my CPAP for an APAP with read out. When I talk to my DME or look on Canadian sites the prices listed are at least twice as much as American prices. What is the rationale for this? Can I buy from American sites with a Canadian prescription?
All the listings on Cpapauction.com ship to US only.
Does anybody have a suggestion? Thank you from a very tired 24 year old
Can someone explain this???

This is info listed under prescription upload at cpap.com. It appears you can call the number listed about your Candadian prescription
To order a CPAP, APAP or BiPAP machine from us you will need to provide us with a prescription. You may do this by faxing your prescription to us toll free at 1-866-353-2727 or by using the upload feature on this page.
Important:
When you place your order from our website you will receive an email confirming the order and giving you an order number.
Reference your order number on your prescription. No cover sheet is needed.
Be sure you send a prescription and NOT the sleep study report. Also, the prescription should state the pressure level unless you are ordering an auto-adjusting CPAP.
If you have not yet placed your order please do so online or call us at 1.800.356.5221. Outside the USA, our number is 1.713.351.3414. We match your order to the prescription and ship the same day in most cases.

I don't know about other sites, but CPAPXchange will sell and ship to you at online discount prices, at least according to their website:fogels wrote:Can I buy from American sites with a Canadian prescription?

OK. That must be the official CPAP.com policy. What I'd be inclined to do is contact a vendor via e-mail. If the vendor will talk with you directly and has additional merchandise, then that vendor might very well sell it directly to you.fogels wrote:All the listings on Cpapauction.com ship to US only.
Just how I think I'd handle things.

Explain this?
I also live on London Ontario! The Canadian prices are ridculously high, I agree.
I have been buying online from the US since January of this year. Most of my purchases have been from cpap.com. They have shipped maybe 8 packages to me. They ship via USPS and the shipping cost for each is $17.00. There are no customs or duty charges. The masks and replacement mask parts I have bougth were about 1/3 the price they are in Canada. I bought a new APAP from another online site and it was way less that I would have paid here. I uploaded my old prescription to them and they accepted it. They feel that sleep apnea is not curable so an old prescription is valid always. I did not try to get reimbursment from my extended health nor from the ADP of the Provincial government for the machine since my extended health said they required a new prescription. I paid for all of these on my own but saved quite a bit. The difference between my extended health plan coverage and the cost in Canada would leave me paying about what I paid online.
I have also bought several masks from capauction.com. If you contact the seller they will tell you if they will ship to Ontario Canada and I always ask them to ship by USPS and request a shipping price before I bid.
SOME seller say, on the site, that they do not ship internaitonally but most will.
PM me if you want to discuss this more.

From what I've learned, ADP will only reimburse in Ontario if the unit and/or supplies are bought from an ADP registered facility in Ontario...i.e. Medi Gas/Shoppers Home Health etc. Prices are very high. So any "non covered by ADP or Insurance items, imho should be purchased out of the States at any of these reputable online sites. I've purchased a brand new auto pap on the auction site at half the price of cpap.com....you have to be comfortable with auctions though..i.e. ebay etc.
