Why did you post this link? Have you had success with this?

I posted it because it is an interesting theory about the cause of FMS. There are many theories out there about the cause, so just more of an information type think for people to explore if interested. I have FMS as do several others that I'm aware of on the board so thought I'd share what what another person with FMS shared with me.

I would not consider this off-topic. The connection with cpap is many people report improved fibromyalgia symptoms after starting cpap.

Thanks Rooster. I know CPAP has been a huge part of me getting my life back.

I was a fibro sufferer also...CPAP took away the pain. There is some medical research that suggests that fibro can be a sleep-related disorder.

I have fibromyalgia. I read that 80 percent of people with fibromyalgia have apnea. I don't know if the apnea was a factor in causing the fibromyalgia or the other way around. I know for me, my apnea and my fibromyalgia were both diagnosed after my spinal surgery. My body has absolutely not been the same since that surgery.

I'm doing my best to hold down a job while dealing with both things because I am single and MUST work.

I appreciate any information on FM that will help to keep me functioning - especially mentally! I listened to the whole video, but quite honestly, I'm not having one of my sharp days today and it wasn't sinking in. I bookmarked it for another day. Thank you for taking the time to post it.

FMS, and many forms and levels of neuropathies can be brought on, or greatly worsened by OSA... and in-part or substantially can be alleviated by proper and consistent OSA treatment. Dozens of other troublesome, serious or deadly ailments can also be OSA fostered or worsened.

As a lifelong OSA sufferer, untreated 'til early 2002, and improperly treated until I found my own best therapy, with the help of knowledgeable people this board, in mid-2007.... I can assure you that OSA is debilitating and leads to very painful conditions. Untreated or improperly treated it continues to worsen them. Much of the damage is permanent for longtime severe OSA sufferers. But good treatment can be of great immediate and long-term benefit in pain reduction and life and lifestyle enjoyment.

Simply put... untreated and improperly treated OSA is known to be potentially deadly, surely detrimental to life and lifestyle... and very painful to endure in so many ways. Fibro is but one of many of the peripheral negative effects that OSA can bring about and/or worsen.

Your post, Mist, was very on-topic. Thanks for posting the link.

Good'uns to all....
