Quieter Masks

Post by joshh » Wed Apr 30, 2008 5:33 pm

I checked the 'Collective Wisdom' posts, but was unable to find any recommendations for 'quiet' masks.

The machine itself is very quiet and doesn't hardly make a noise at all. But I am having a problem with the 'air' noise being released from the mask itself.

Does anyone have any recommendations for good quiet masks?

Thanks!

I think the Soyala mask is the quietest one out there. It is totally silent. As for other masks some are quieter than others, but what one person thinls is quiet, another may think of as noisy. I think the CL2 is very quiet.

Be sure to fill out your profile so we know what mask and machine you are using. It will help us give you better answers to any questions you have. It will also help to put in a note as to what pressure you use.

I end up having to use ear plugs as I'm very sensitive to noise. I don't like it but find I can't sleep without them.

I've heard good things about the Headrest. I think alot of the noise with masks is the exhaust ports. I've heard because it exhausts upwards, it's less annoying.

I only used it briefly, so I can't remember if I noticed it being quieter than my Nasal Aire II.

Cheers,
B.

What about quieter vents? My mask doesn't have any venting open, I have the inline venting off the mask that I have to use. MAN is that noisy.
