My first machine to start out with was a F/P 406 with the heated hose. The air was very warm and NO Condensation what so ever. I used it for a full month until I fired that DME and got my A/Flex from another one. All in all it was a good machine, not data capable though.

The 200 and 600 series have data capable, remote titrating software.

All F&P machines, as far as I know, record only "hours of use" -- "compliance." They are not capable of recording AHI
or leak data that I know of.
They keep track only of how many hours/days you've been using it.

"Remote titrating software" sounds like just a way for a DME to be able to set a new single pressure via a modem or something
-- without having the patient bring the machine in.

Perhaps when they finally release the autopap (their first autopap) they've been working on, maybe...just maybe... they'll
have software for it that will give more useful data than just "compliance" (hours of use) info.

Personally, when it comes to heated hoses, I'd much rather have a separate heated hose that can be used with ANY machine...any
brand, any model...than to be tied to one brand of machine that has, in effect, an "integrated" heated hose
that can be used only with that one brand.

When it comes to having a heated hose, I'd rather use the Aussie heated hose from sleepzone.com.au,
or use the Zoo Med Repti Heat Cable described here:

As of now, Fisher & Paykel make only straight cpap machines. No autopap (although they have developed one, to be
released "someday") and no bilevel machine so far.

So...I'm happier with a separate standalone heated hose that I can use with any brand of machine.

I do like the standalone Fisher & Paykel HC 150 heated humidifier, though. Works great and can be used with any
brand of machine. And can be used with a separate heated hose.

Thanks rested gal. Good to know! Yes reading the brochure it does sound that it is only compliance and titrating software no analysis software.

I am sure as you said as they introduce an APAP they may have the analytic software which would be very handy.

I am just keeping my eyes peeled for my next machine in 2 years time. It's good to keep on the trends and what is being developed etc.

It is an exiting time for us hosers, I think down the road new machines are going to be even better than today. Maybe not vastly but little enhancements to make therapy easier.

I use a 600 series machine. I've got the heated hose turned all the way down (maybe off?). I tried having the heat on, but felt stifled. I've also got the humidifier turned way down, otherwise I'm drowning an hour after bedtime. I'm sure I could turn both the heat on the hose and the humidity up, but it would be like breathing in a greenhouse all night-yuck!

I would rate the F&P machines as excellent except for the lack of data recording & also they don't have any exhalation relief like the Respironics machine or the EPR feature of Resmed.

F&P lead the way in humidification & hose technology. It is a pity they never got round to adding data capture. They kind of missed the boat in that area.
