News concerning DMEs and fears for patients

Post by Pad A Cheek » Mon Apr 14, 2008 7:57 am

This is a site I ran across that is concerning the DME companies and their concerns for themselves, and possibly for the patients they serve.

This competitive bidding is covering the country and may effect your local servers of medical equipment.
There are changes happening in the field of Sleep Medicine, stay tuned.

Thanks, Karen. I just e-mailed this to my DME RT. When I saw her a few weeks ago, she seemed unaware of CMS' new bidding scheme for DME's.

Regards,

Alisha

I've been following this competitive bidding process for some time.......it's leaving an even lower opinion for those DME companies than I had before (if that's possible).

Now they're resorting to what sounds like "blackmail"......if they can't get the reimbursement rates that they have been used to (ripping off the system), then the healthcare recipients will suffer.

Meanwhile, there have been numerous articles of DME owners/operators being charged with fraud......and sent to jail.
