mouth breathing
I am a terrible mouth breather. I can not mouth tape because of allergic reaction to the tape no matter if for sensitive or not still can't use. I tried again the respironics deluxe chin strap and all it does is slip up out of position to not be affective.
My pressure is 9 and I am using the snapp nasal mask because I have no luck with the liberty mask with leak issues.
last night my leak rate was .56 AHI 7.2 AI 3.2 and HI 4.0
night before my leak rate .62 AHI 7.9 AI 1.8 HI 6.1
Help any help as to what to do now.

I buy the strips, bend them into a slight "V", wet my lips and shut my mouth. They hold all night.NeedsSleep wrote:How do you use Polident strips I have been taping but the tape is really breaking my face out.
I have to wrap a home made strap around my mouth to prevent the "blowfish" affect that sometimes comes from cheeks puffing out when the mouth is sealed. The cheek puffing can wake you up too.

NeedsSleep, the polident strips can take a while to get right, but they are a godsend. Persevere with them if you can. No taping, no straps. My son and I swear by them, and don't have a problem all night. We also just bend into a V shape and go for it.
In addition, I was previously a very determined mouth breather, but now day or night breathe properly - an unintended bonus.
Occasionally they'll come loose if you dampen too much, but they can usually be dried out and re-used if you just fan, wait or whatever! If not, they're easy enough to dispose of and start with another. FYI when you do close your mouth on them, it may take a while, sticking closed is not necessarily instantaneous, so just press the lips shut and ignore. After a while you'll find your lips are quite firmly held shut. We don't use any extra strapping or wrapping, but that's a good idea if you do.
I don't know where you are located, but they are hard to find in Australia, and we usually buy out the place when we find them.
Good luck, and let us know how you go!
