who knew????????

Post by whatrdreamsmadeof » Mon Mar 24, 2008 5:28 am

I've been on cpap for a couple of years, religiously, and struggle like so many but with the help of the great folk here, Laura, Jim. Dreamstalker, and you all know who you are, I've been managing better but still only get about 4 hours of sleep. Well it turns out after a stress test for a simple hernia operation, I have heart blockage and will have a heart cath. tomorrow. Just maybe, I've had this problem for the past few years when they began looking for reasons I was falling, losing balance, tired from simple activity. I think I was too quick to blame everything on the OSA. Yes I am a little scared of the procedure tomorrow, but greatful for cpap it's probably kept me from the big one. Moral......it may be more than unsuccessful cpap treatment to blame.............
Thanks for all your help and support on the forum!
Ellen

Ellen,
You make a very good point about not being too quick to think OSA is responsible for all that ails us - and that using your cpap kept that particular stress off your heart. Please report back when you are able.
Hugs and Prayers.
Kathy

Ellen, don't wory about the heart cath thing too much. I just had it done and it was a breeze. Amazing what they can do these days. I was awake during the procedure with no pain what so ever.

Good thing you're catching it now. It will go by quickly.
Just a little blip in the overall keeping up with the maintenance thing.
