Mask Size Comparions

Post by jrfoster » Sat Mar 22, 2008 8:19 pm

I wear a size small in the Comfort Gel nasal mask. I would like to try the Mirage Quattro FFM, and was wondering if I should also order a small or maybe the medium? Anybody wear the same masks and can tell the size difference? Thanks.

Jeff

I thought for a long time, that if I wore a small in a nasal, I would wear a small in the FF. Not necessarily true. After reading SnoreDogs post, I measured my face and found that I wear a Med in a full face mask. It is the length that counts for the measurement in a FF mask. I kept waking up with my mask IN my mouth, instead of under the lips...it was too small....duh on me.....Thanks to SnoreDog, I finally got one that fits good.

Thanks, Joyce that is good to know. I see some of the Mirage Quattros for sale on the CPAP Auction page and might just try a medium. Better that paying full price for one!

I wear a small ComfortGel, but a large Quattro. The ComfortGel's sizing is based on the size of your nose, whereas the Quattro's more the overall size of your nose/mouth region.

Finding your size

Post by dreamchick » Sun Mar 23, 2008 9:11 am

If you go to cpap.com and scroll about 1/2 way down the page you will see size. Click on that and it walks you through how to measure your face for a mask. Enter you measurements (you can save them too) and it will give you a whole list of masks that will work best for you.

I did it and found out that the mask I was thinking of buying would not have worked well for my face measurements. I did choose one of the masks it recommended and I am very pleased with the results.

I wear a small FP nasal mask but a medium FP FF mask with a small cushion. So, measure to be sure.

quattro fit

Post by sososleepy » Sun Mar 23, 2008 12:57 pm

Hi Jeff,
I can't comment on the comfort gel cause I've never tried one. I did buy a quattro on cpap.com in small. I used the sizing chart but i must have measured incorrectly because i am a med. After a few times of trying my small quattro i had given up on it cause it killed the bridge of my nose.
I then saw a post that posted the resmed site, myresmed.com, where one can download and print templetes for different resmed mask. I found the templates to be very helpful and i learned i was a med. I was fortunate enough to trade with someone on the board who needed a small and now I love the comfort of my med quattro. The bridge of my nose doesn't bother me at all. If you can, download the templete for the quattro and use that along with measuring to double check. Good Luck:) Sososleepy
