Your advice on pressure paterns ...

Post by rwalther » Sun Mar 23, 2008 8:25 am

Many of you commented on my theory that Auto-Pressure getting too high was waking me up. Your "contrarian" suggestion was to set minimum pressure higher, to avoid forcing the auto-pressure feature to "adjust" upward.

I was set with Min=6 and Max=14.

I decided to do both ideas ... mine and yours.

I set Min=8 and Max=12 ... essentially forcing myself into a smaller range.

The result was really good. For several nights now, I've noticed a real decrease in mask discomfort wake-ups ... a decrease in AHI ... decrease in Average Leak ... and an average pressure that is below 10 for the first time ever.

Ah ... the power of "Data", when it's augmented with the power of "Good Advice".

It's a wonderful thing.

"Contrarian"? Just because the medical community doesn't understand how these machines work and should be configured......doesn't mean WE don't.

By setting the minimum pressure higher, the machine doesn't have as far to go when it's responding to an "event".

Glad to hear you're getting better results.

I'd be willing to bet that if you moved your bottom pressure up to 10, that your numbers would even get better.
