Vangage snafu

Post by NotthatBob » Sat Mar 22, 2008 3:00 pm

Check tube!!
Key if done

This is the message I get when I turn on my new Vangage. Hit the button, it turns on for about 1/2 second, turns off, and then I get that message.

They didn't give the manual when I picked it up, so I can't look there until I get it Monday. Any thoughts?

Does your mask have a one-way valve that's stuck? Try taking the hose off, and see if it runs without the hose.

If it does, there's something plugging the hose/mask. If you still get the error, your machine is broken.

This is with no mask or hose attached. I wanted to run it for some time before I started breathing the air...blow off the dust, so to speak. There may be some sort of auto start that I am missing. They gave me no training, so I am floundering on my own.

Its probably shutting itself off cause there is no mask attached. Turn the switch alarm off for mask leaks. Or better yet put the hose on it and use the mask like its supposed to be used then see if it still shuts off. If so then you have a valid complaint. Good Luck jim

Mine does the same thing when no hose is attached. Nothing wrong with it.

I think I discovered my problem. The tech gave me the machine in auto mode. I am not ready for the learning curve of auto, and want cpap mode. Anyone know how to change the Vangage from auto to cpap?

Try these instructions. Be sure to write down every existing setting on paper before attempting to change anything.

You can download a .pdf file for the lower-end machines from this site, but they don't have the Elite or Vantage files there.

Got the thing working...much in your debt, Slinky. Now I find that the Vantage makes a whistling noise and "ramps" up an down with each breath. EPR or whatever it's called, is off. Mask fitting shows "perfect"...it's not the mask whistling, but the fan or motor. This was not present with the Compact I was just using. Seems I remember some complaints about the whistling. Any thoughts?
