Using Previous Smart Card

Post by TxStarDiesel » Tue Mar 18, 2008 6:58 pm

I posted earlier about purchasing a new machine (Mine Died ) and I should have asked these questions as well:

Can I use my current card in the new machine? Do I need to do something first or can I just put it into the new machine? I use v1.8 of Encore Pro and have encore analyzer as well as the usb card reader.

Also, I purchased the M-series Auto w/a flex and the F&P HC150 Heated Humidifier instead of the integrated one. I have seen some posts about changing the setting to a front ??? I don't get it. I don't have the equipment yet (should arrive tomorrow) and want to be ready -- didn't get more than a few hours last night and don't imagine I will get much sleep tonight. When I get the machine, I plan on hooking up and snoozing as soon as possible!

Maybe I will download all instructions and that is what I will do when I can't sleep tonight!!! Or, I can stay up and read posts all night .

Download the Card Utility from http://www.mycpap.org

Save the data from card using this utility - then format it.

My exp. has been the Pre-M card data format is not compatible w/the M series card data format.

So until you use this card again (after format) - it should go in any machine.

Good Luck,

You might want to clean/format your old smartcard using the smartcard utility program, available free here: http://www.mycpap.org/
The F&P will hook up to your M Series Auto with no problem. You'll see where to attach the hoses when you receive the machine and the humidifier.

If you haven't downloaded the data since your machine died, you could do so and see what you get. You don't really need that utility program as you would already have a card reader for use with your Encore Pro software. You would probably want to erase the card with the utilities in Encore pro if you're going to use that card in your M Series. It's been reported that switching cards between the Legacy models and M Series models can be iffy......and especially with the one with the A-Flex.
On the other hand, if you're going to get your Pro 2 fixed, you might want to keep it for use with that machine.
