Perfume Odor

Post by gordogolfer » Sat Mar 15, 2008 8:30 am

Hi Everyone

I recently traded a new Swift II pillow with a lady who must have worn very strong perfume

The odor has permeated the silicone rubber. Does anyone know how to eliminate the strong odor?

I tried soaking in vinegar overnight but the smell is still there

Thanks for any suggestions

Control III sterilizing solution should do it. You can get it from cpap.com.

I don't know how this might effect the silicone, but what about a strong solution of baking soda and water? That might help.

If you find something that works please let us know. It seems that silicone is bad about holding the smell. I don't know if it absorbs it or what.

Hi All

Since the pillow really didn't cost anything

I decide to soak the pillow in Clorox Bleach for about 10 minutes
I seems to have worked pretty well

Not sure if it had any negative effect on the silicone but the odor is gone

Silicone rubber is tough stuff so I doubt it did

Try it at your own risk

Cheers
