Difference between C flex and A flex

Post by Murphy » Fri Mar 14, 2008 3:50 pm

I have an Auto M with C flex and last night the auto adjusting did not work it just ramped up then seemed to go right to the highst setting and stayed there (has that happened to anyone else?), so I had to take it in to Baycare today for them to repair it and they gave me a loaner that is and Auto M with A flex, what is the difference between these 2, the A flex is more expensive on cpap.com, so there must be a difference.
Thanks

Check these websites for descriptions of these two features. I prefer A-FLEX.

Murphy, since you are used to the feel of C-flex, try turning on A-flex (at a setting of "3"). As nice as C-flex is, I think you'll feel even a much nicer feeling of less resistance when you breathe out with A-flex.

If the DME who gave you the loaner machine didn't turn on A-flex (they might have gone strictly by your settings on your other machine) you'll have to go into the therapy setup menu to switch it to A-flex.

If you don't know how to access the therapy setup menu using the machine's buttons, PM me your email address and I'll email you the "Provider Quick Setup Guide."
