The New product challenge!!!

Post by goose » Fri Mar 07, 2008 3:08 pm

I'll be waiting for the results of this one --
I'm realllllllly interested in the HR V2 mask because of the claims of the great seal around facial hair (which I have).
I presently have the HC431 (F&P) which I can't get to seal to save my life -- if I really needed to use it, the facial hair would go -- even after over 30 years -- because it will grow back when the nose clears up, but the HR V2 looks like it could be a winner (to me).
If you volunteer for the challenge and have facial hair, I'd be really interested in your findings!!!!

Thanks Johnny -- hope you get a lot of volunteers!!!!

Cheers
goose

So.... How do they VERIFY you have a UMFF? I mean, why can't you sign up Goose, and say you have one?

LOL,

No forehead piece

Post by PocketDragonFriend » Fri Mar 07, 2008 3:30 pm

I'd love to try it because I just HATE that forehead bar. I always end up with a headache. And I still have terrible leaks.

HR V2 Mask

Post by jimbassett » Fri Mar 07, 2008 4:04 pm

I have had the V2 for 2 weeks now. I am really dissapointed in the mask as the engineering is outstanding. But it is very hard to get it to seal and I don't have facial hair. I read the mask was designed for Bi-PAP use and expect it willl seal a lot better at high pressures. As far as I'm concerned it is not even in the same class with the UMFF which is one of my favs. I reg. use around 8 to 10 cm pressures. YMMV jim

FF Challange

Post by ufo13 » Fri Mar 07, 2008 4:38 pm

Well I have been a cpap.com customer and forum member for a LONG time, and as with many others, was not selected for the last FF mask challange! So I haven't tried that one, but have used the Quattro, the HC431, and now using the UMFF mask! The Quattro and the 431 were NO good for me and the UMFF mask I am using is not a perfect one for me either, but better than the other two! Maybe this will be the mask for me IF I get selected to try it out in the challange!
Used the Swift pillows mask for a long time also, until I started "mouth-breathing" which came out of nowhere and compromises my therapy! Hope this Hans R-V turns out to be a FF mask which works for MANY!

Best to all,

Steve,
ufo13

I guess I could do that, but it wouldn't be right (and Babs, knowing you, I'm sure your comment was tongue buried deep in cheek!!! Some may not know that yet...... )

Just to get up on the soapbox for just a second -- These evals benefit all of us, so anyone "cheating" really does the community a dis-service.
Ok off of the soapbox....

I'll for sure sign up for one when I actually have the mask being evaluated!!!!

cheers

One way they may know is when you register they ask if you are a cpap.com customer, and if so, you input a order number where they have record history of the sales.

I was a bit surprised when they asked for an order number.

I’ve been ordering all my stuff from cpap.com for over two years (almost as long as I’ve been on CPAP) but I don’t save receipts / order numbers for an extended period of time. I bought my current UMFF from them, but it’s been about a year and a half.

Ironically, I had ordered some things last week, including a new seal for the UMFF (trying to beat the price increase.) I looked up the order number from their confirming e-mail.

I would be thrilled to find another FF mask that I can use, which isn’t made by ResMed, Respironics, or F&P.

Wayne

Joyce,

Snoredog did say "One way they may know...."

They also ask if you are a CPAPTALK member, so they could check your profile or posts. However, I think that they will just take a person's word for it, too. I think they are pretty trusting, in that regard.

I simply signed up then sent a PM to johnnygoodman describing what I do - I normally use my Quattro but around one night a week I treat myself to a different assortment of mask leaks by switching to the UMFF (which I used for over a year before I got the Q).

If that definition of "current user" fits his needs then great, otherwise I'll save up to try the HR if it fares well in the challenge.
