I have been sleeping with a Respironics M series Auto CPAP with A-Flex. The machine is set with a low limit of 10 cm and a high limit of 20 cm. The A-Flex is set to 3. The machine is currently averaging around 13-14 cm for treatment. I notice that sometimes the machine has a tendency to "creep" the pressure up to 17 cm. This usually wakes me up with chest pain. (When i say chest pain I don't mean heart pain.) I have noticed that whenever the machine is running above 14 cm I tend to feel a tightness in my chest. It feels like my lungs hurt. If I remove the CPAP the pain goes away within 5 minutes. I explained this to my doctor... He did not seem to be concerned about it. He said "you will get used to it." Is it possible that having the pressure creep up too high (Due to an automatic CPAP) can cause lung pains?
Chest Pain Question?
I assume they are more muscle pains than lung pains.
Yes, you can have those pains when the pressure is high (not necessarily too high).
Yes, you can get used to it.
Yes, for some people an unlimited top range can let the pressure creep too hight.

And now here is my secret, a very simple secret; it is only with the heart that one can see rightly, what is essential is invisible to the eye.
