Ultra Mirage II coming unsnapped

Post by Bamafanatic56 » Wed Feb 13, 2008 10:02 am

My mask keeps coming unsnapped from my hose coupler. I wake up breathing thru the mask with no hose attached. has anyone had similiar issues and found a solution?

I had it happen to the Vista. I really like the design of the mask but had a terrible time keeping it connected to the hose.

Sorry I couldn't be of any help.

Bama, do you have that little C clip on the connector from the mask to the hose?

Try moving you machine closer to the bed. That will help if the problem is that you are rolling over (away from your machine) and "running out of line" (as we'd say in fishing).

Don't have a clip and I don't remember seeing one...it just snaps together. When I roll over during the night sometimes it just comes apart. Other than that I think I would have this CPAP thing licked!! 2 months today on the hose.

This may be the clip that Carol was referring to:

Here's a link to all the parts:

If you got it at a local DME, you might want to visit them and see what's what.

On the UMFF, there's a circular clip similar to the one in the first link and the hose connector has to "snap" in place to get it hooked together, otherwise it can come apart.

This happened to me a couple of times, but usually when I would raise up at night without thinking and it would pop off. You are talking about the quick disconnect piece that attaches the hose to the mask, right? I re-arranged my hose so that I had a couple extra inches and this quit being a problem. Do you have your hose arranged on your headboard so that it comes down from the top? This helps keep me from getting all tangled up in it as I roll from side to side. If you like, PM me and I will send you a couple pics of my hose setup. Hope you get it figured out.

Bama: follow the link in Wulfman's post.
Does you connection have this C clip on it?
It should.

Here's a picture of the clip from the UMFF. I'm posting the link because even though they are different part numbers, I think that the design is similar....and this is a much bigger picture to look at. If you'll notice there are two little "thingies" that are on the inside of the ring.....they're flat and fit into a groove that holds it in place when it snaps together......if that helps.
