TSA with "Attitude"

Post by Joel Adams » Mon Feb 11, 2008 8:52 pm

I fly every week, but this is the first time I have had a TSA agent make a fuss about using new gloves before handling my cpap. They also unwound my mask and hose, then placed my mask on the bare counter, and who knows what was on there before.

Also, when the agent unwound the hose and mask she made sure that everyone in line saw who was holding things up. Don't I have a right of privacy where the TSA doesn't display my personel DME?

Oh, well, rant over, I feel better now.......

Well that was rude of the TSA agent! Yes, I'd be *issed off too. What's next, holding up our underwear to make sure there's no bomb dust on them! Ha...

Please call TSA and report this. It should not have happened.

I am not sure you can paint the entire TSA staff with the actions of a few.
You may have the misfortune to get a person who had had a bad day and lacked civility.

Some people are this way ocvcasinally, some permanently.

This is true of some anywhere including this forum.

They seem to look for any occasion to be rude.
Others occasionally.some never.
You know who they are.
You may just see one very soon.
Maybe not.
They probably vote for Hillary.

Can't Help But Respond

Post by curtcurt46 » Tue Feb 12, 2008 11:21 am

My experience is that most TSA agents are very professional when handling cpaps. I have lately had to place the cpap in a plastic tub just like the laptop. I don't really mind what they do as long as they do the same to all cappers. International destinations are much more invasive.
I am now only carrying the cpap through the security checkpoint. All the rest of my cpap equipment (hose, mask, extension cord, etc) is carried in my checked baggage. By doing this I am not concerned with contamination of my mask and hose. Typically the cpap is only subject to a swab on the outside of the case.

I certainly hope your checked baggage doesn't go astray... I know several people who have traveled by plane recently who had to wait a day or more for their checked baggage to arrive.

I have it from reliable sources that the female TSA agent who was so insensitive....is actually the granddaughter of fraulein Hilda who worked the dressing room area......next door to the "showers" at Buchenwald.

She can't help it........it's in her genes.

showers

Post by tomjax » Wed Feb 13, 2008 5:54 am

Sorry, Gerald, there were no showers - rooms for gas at Buchenwald.

Other camps, yes, Buchenwald, no.
Actualy, there was a small shower room, but it was not used for gas.

Still it was not a very nice place, especially if you had tattoes.
And that has about as much myth as fact.
The Bitch of Buchenwald was also not a nice person.
