An update on amandalee

Post by amandalee » Thu Feb 07, 2008 9:10 pm

Hi all,

Just a little update on my situation for anyone who is interested.

I'm still tired and feel like crap.
I went to a naturopathic doctor last week, and got some blood tests: CBC, CMP, TSH, Free T3, Free T4, lipid panel, iron, zinc & ferritin.
In the meantime, I'm taking a vit B5 supplement and a vit D supplement along with the multivitamin and fish oil capsules I was already taking.
He listened, and seemed to be thorough.

I have a follow up appointment next week with my new sleep doc. I don't like the Requip trial pack be gave me. It doesn't seem to be making an difference, and now that I have worked my way up to the 1 mg pill, I have weird hallucinations sometimes as I'm trying to go to sleep: seeing shadows moving and hearing noises that I know aren't there. It's creepy and unpleasant. (the lower doses weren't bad though, they just didn't help). I don't think it's worth it.

Anyway, that's the latest...

But LOST is back and that makes me happy.

Amanda,
I'm sorry to hear that you haven't yet found your balancing point. It's tough for many, and we are rooting for you.

Zorro,
Wow!!! Go man, go. I hope you have found your balancing point and that it's stable and repeatable, night after night.

keep us posted amandalee, sounds like you are on the right track.... after a thorough blood workup i was told to take 1 caltrate w/vit.D 600 tablets twice daily , also folic acid. my reumatologist was sharp, he has since cut me loose because of my improvement. certain meds such as methatrexate, prednasone can drain you of nutriants. bone density, etc.

Hey Amandalee -- good vibes still heading your way....
It will be interesting to see how the blood work comes back. When mine finally came back the naturopathic doc gave me all kinds of good "stuff".....Just make sure you're seated when they give you the bill!!!! It sure would be nice if insurance companies would cover those items like they do with drugs!!!! Heaven forbid they cover something that may actually be good for you.....

take care -- and keep at it
cheers
