wow!

Post by williexwhip » Fri Feb 08, 2008 2:00 am

ok, so ive been on the bi pap for a few months. at first i thought it was terrible. i was soo mad that i had to use it that i didn't even try. im 17 and i felt like it was so messed up that i had to go through that. i stopped using it for a few weeks, which i know isn't good, but i just didn't want to deal. well now, since the beginning of January, i have used it every night for at least 6 hours at a time without waking up or taking it off. i fall asleep almost instantly, where as before i layed for hours just to take it off and fall asleep normally. also before that i couldn't sleep on my side or back, only my belly, but now i sleep on my side which is much easier.

thats all i had to say. thanks for all the help here everyone. got a lot of good info when i first got the machine. it really is worth it. just very hard in the beginning.

Glad you made it past the the first hurdle ! ! !

Now just keep with it and do what you have to to make it better for you each night.

Willie!!! It is great to see you back!! And even greater to hear how well you are doing!! We are proud of you for sticking with it. Now that you have the first hurdle over with, the rest will be better. Just getting used to the machine, mask and air was the first hurdle for me. Soon, you will realize how good the air feels and wont be able to go to sleep without it! I kept looking for a post from you hoping you would check in and let us know how you are doing...

keep coming back, we are all interested and care and support you...

Hey Willie,
So nice of you to let us know how you're doing - and wonderful to hear you got over the hurdle and are doing well.

Next time someone swears they're a stomach sleeper, I'm going to quote you.

Willie,
Congrat's on making your health the focus, and not the therapy and therapy tools. It's a tough adjustment for anyone to get accustomed to, be they young, older or near ancient. You're certainly in the right place for support, understanding and friendship.
