Ripped off?

Post by Arizona-Willie » Sun Jan 13, 2008 6:05 pm

I ordered my 7500 on Jan 3 and they sent an email that said to give them a couple of days before asking for tracking info.

They charged my card pronto.

On the 9th I emailed with the order number and asked for tracking info.

THEY DID NOT REPLY.

As of the 12th I have heard nothing from them ... no email reply..no tracking info... no box being delivered.

I am going to call them tomorrow if they are still in business and haven't disappeared to the Caribbean.

Congrats to those who got one ... but I feel like I've been ripped off because of the companies failure to communicate or respond to the email asking for tracking info that they said to send.

No response..no info...no machine.

I'd give them a call tomorrow--they were a little slow, took about 10 days to receive my order. So, I called, spoke to them, and it shipped the next day. But, for a $250 savings, it was well worth the wait.

The Wait

Post by Arizona-Willie » Sun Jan 13, 2008 11:23 pm

I agree the savings would be worth the wait.

The delay isn't a big problem.

The lack of communication is.

For me.

I do plan to call the tomorrow and will even try to be polite and civil.

Agreed. After reading on this forum that perhaps the item description was an error, I too emailed them to confirm that what I had ordered included the data capable device, software, etc. Never received a response. So, I was poised and ready for a fight. But, the item arrived, and I was delighted to have received the unit I had hoped for. It appears that this company is really more of a physician's supplier, selling high ticket medical testing equipment, so I guess our little orders are not high priorities. I don't foresee doing business with them again (don't see anything they sell that I'd ever need to purchase). Makes one appreciate the responsive customer service we get from companies like cpap.com!

Update

Post by Arizona-Willie » Mon Jan 14, 2008 11:42 pm

Called the company today and was told they are waiting on tracking info from the manufacturer.

Other item I ordered arrived today. Only 11 days from Colorado to Arizona. Fast fast fast.

I believe these units are re-conditioned ... that is why we are getting the half price deal.

When I called this morning a girl said it looked like one unit had shipped and the other she didn't know about but she would have another girl check into it and call me back real soon.

1 pm came and went with no call back so I called again and the girl looked up the order number and told me then they had not forgot me but were waiting on tracking info from the manufacturer. So they don't have them in stock and the manufacturer is shipping direct which means they are a reseller and < most likely > these are re-conditioned units. But they didn't say that on the web page.

That isn't necessarily bad. Sometimes it is good to get something that was sent back because it didn't work out of the box ... get repairs out of the way to start with. Being optimistic.

Hope I don't have to wait until the company gets another bad one in to re-condition before I can get one.

I wasn't lucky enough to get one before they ran out .... aarrgghhh.

Oh well, time will tell.

No, these are not refurbs—came factory sealed, new, with an identifying serial number that you register online with the company for the new item warranty. My guess is that the slow down or back order is due to the mad rush of people ordering these devices at half the normal price. So sorry you're having to go through this frustration—hoping it will be worth it when you finally receive your device.

Med1online - Are they for real??

Post by roncron » Mon Feb 04, 2008 6:03 pm

This item has been dormant for a while. I thought I'd check back in and see if any of you who had open orders with Med1online had received your oximeters yet.

Arizona Willie, you placed your order early last month, right? Did you ever get your oximeter?

I'm especially curious because I ordered one from Med1online on January 17 and haven't received it yet. I have called repeatedly to inquire about shipping status, tracking info, etc, and each time I get the run-around: the person who answers transfers me to someone else, who transfers me to a 3rd person, who is out of the office so would you please leave a voice mail. But they never return my messages.

I don't think they are trying to rip me off. But they charged my visa card $375 over 2 weeks ago, they haven't sent the item yet, and nobody there will talk straight with me.

I expect I'll get the oxymeter eventually. But the next time you're going to purchase medical equipment, save yourself a lot of stress and avoid med1online. Their service is disappointing and frustrating.

Willie posted on another thread last week that he had not gotten it or heard from them as to when he might expect it. I think the got the sissors he bought to get it over the $250 for free shipping. It is now up to $499. The $375 price evidently still did not cover their cost. I suspect that those that ordered it will evently get them but since they are losing money they are not going to get in a hurry.

I wish I had ordered and would be glad to be waiting but with the first of year bills I had I waited to long.

Jerry

I emailed them today about my order placed on January 9th, and I got this response. I welcome input on how to proceed.

Brian,

We are anticipating a shipment of SPO pulse oximeters to come in this week.

The unfortunate part of this is that our cost of the units is greater than the price of $249. I cannot fulfill the order at that price.

What I can do is offer it to you for $373 which is below what SPO allows us to sell if for.

If this is not doable for you, we will issue a full refund.

I apologize again for the delay. Please let me know what you want to do.

Brian/milkman,

I wish I had input for you. I'm frustrated for you. The fact that they agreed to sell it to you for $250, charged your credit card, failed to ship the item, and now want more money is absolutely unconscionable.

I see at their website they have a little badge at the bottom of the web page that says "BBB online reliability program." I googled this program and arrived at the following page, which is the Better Business Bureau's report on Med1Online:

http://denver.bbb.org/WWWRoot/Report.as ... m=16000210

It says that Med1Online has agreed to address complaints filed through the Better Business Bureau, which we can do here:

https://odr.bbb.org/odrweb/public/GetStarted.aspx

It says that "The BBB processed a total of 28 complaints about this company in the last 36 months, our standard reporting period.Of the total of 28 complaints closed in 36 months, 23 were closed in the last year."

It lists the various types of complaints filed against Med1Online and how they were resolved.

Good luck, Brian, and good luck to any of you who are having trouble with this company.

Ron

I got the same run-around too. I finally got mad and started sending nastygrams and they finally did contact me last Thursday. They said they were out of stock and expecting shipment by today (mon 02/04/08 ) and that I could expect my order delivered by end of this week. They said nothing about charging me extra ... and they best not if they know what is good for 'em

I too like milkman and others in this thread purchased the steal at $250. And as we susepcted, it truly was a steal given they advertised the wrong unit for the price.

I ordered around Jan 9 and Med1 charged my card. Got my "nose hair" scissors, but no SPO.

I e-mailed them last week (no response, big surprise), but I dread calling them. I know what they are going to say. I looked back on my receipt and it lists the 7500H (no recording), not the full model 7500F. But as we saw, the web page did originally list all the recording features of the F model. I am afraid they will ship me the H model since
'that's what your invoice lists".

Does anybody have a screen shot or saved the html page when it showed $250 for the recording model?

Thx so much Rip. I meant to do this too as proof later, but brain farted after I ordered.

Indeed the page shows the H model as my receipt. But the description is for the F model which is what I saw "advertised" and want.

Although if could be a "he said, she said" arguement with Med1, the screen shot shows some proof. I will also let them know, that I know, that the person responsible for the web page is gone.

But they have absolutely no leg to stand on with price. They charged our credit card and hence agreed to the terms of the sale.
