I'm In love with my new BiPAP Auto M!!!
I got my brand-spankin' new BiPAP Auto M-Series yesterday, and had the best sleep I've gotten since starting CPAP! What a wonderful machine! Thank you CPAP.com!!!
My CPAP pressure was 20 cm due to unsuccessful UPPP surgery. Because it was so high, I talked my neurologist into prescribing the BiPAP Auto for me. I downloaded my data this morning, and to my surprise my 90% pressure was 12 cm!!! My AHI was 3.9. I am thrilled! Not having such a high pressure gives me a lot more options in masks.
The machine is super-quiet, and much quieter than my REMStar Pro (tank). No whining or high-pitched sounds. I got the integrated humidifier, mostly for travel, and because of the discount you get when buying the machine and humidifier together. I expected to have to buy an HC150 for everyday use, but there was some water (although not a whole lot) left in the tank this morning. =)
Well, I was just so excited I had to tell everyone about it. I can't wait to get home from work today to take a nap with my new best friend!
Bert =)
P.S. I found the machine at another site at a lower price, and CPAP.com happily refunded me the difference! I just checked my credit card account and there is a credit for $104 dollars on there! Thanks again, CPAP.com!!!

Congratulations, Bert!
Now I stay up late, not always eager to get to bed. Oh, where has the magic gone?
But still, the steady long-term relationship is the most important one in my life .
That reminded me of the early days with my machine. I was so eager to get home and get to sleep with my new best friend .BigGayBert wrote: Well, I was just so excited I had to tell everyone about it. I can't wait to get home from work today to take a nap with my new best friend!

I have had my M-series Bi-pap Auto since last June. I have not felt bloated or like I had to puke since. I was started out on a Remstar plus set at 20cm. I went for a year bought a Remstar Pro2 w/c-flex. (should have bought an Auto) Went for another year and finally got my M-series.
Thanks to RG I got it set the way it should be and my Doctor wrote me a new scrip. and I got it.
Best investment I ever made.

Yes!
You do need a special prescription. My Dr. said that she normally requires a new sleep study but since I was "taking charge" of my own treatment that she would prescribe the Auto BiPAP without a study. cpap.com will let you buy a BiPAP auto with a prescription for any BiPAP machine, but if you want insurance to cover it your prescription must be for an "automatically titrating bilevel".Anonymous wrote:Do you need a Bipap precription for the Bipap auto?
I agree Bert. The M series bipap has greatly improved my quality of life compared to my previous Resmed Vantage auto. If you need to treat apnea at pressures of 12 or more, this is the best solution. I haven't taken a nap during the day for months now, which I had to do constantly with my previous machine.

Bert that is great that it is working so good for you...I am going to talk to my Dr. about changing mine..my pressure is set at 19 all the time...and I just don't sleep that great...not like I should be...Mitzi

You should absolutely get a bipap. 19 is an extremely high pressure, especially considering your machine doesn't even have C-Flex! If your doctor won't switch you to bipap, you should find another doctor.Mitzi wrote:I am going to talk to my Dr. about changing mine..my pressure is set at 19 all the time...and I just don't sleep that great...not like I should be...Mitzi

I have never used a bipap but I agree with Bert -- at your high of pressure you do need some exhale relief and your machine is not providing any relief at all.
Good luck.
