You've taken the first VERY BIG step in the right direction, Marty. Don't hesitate to ask questions.

You are in the right place for help, if you need any. Also, do expect to need a few days or even a week or more to acclimate to the therapy. I remember thinking it would be a cakewalk my first night. It took me about a month to get comfortable with CPAP. Now, I actually love going to bed/sleep and hosing up. Its comforting to me to sleep for real now and not be suffocating off and on. Its as comfortable to me as putting on glasses to see. Good luck and I hope you feel great and rested soon.

I see that you got the Respironics Machine instead of the Resmed... cool. I have the old version of the same machine.

I have the same stuff as well ... M-Series w/ Resmed Qautro FF. It's an excellent combination.

You'll want to get the Smartcard Reader, Smartcard, and Encoreviewer software. A lot of people told me of the "value of data" in making good adjustment decisions, and I'm very glad I listened to them.

I've been able to drive all of my metrics in the right direction, and make adjustments based upon the software analysis. It's a very powerful way to make good decisions.

Just my recommendation.

Good luck.

well it been too night. it snot as bad i as thought it would be, but still not easy.

both night i woke after a few hours and my mask was off- i have no memory of taking the mask off. However, i did put it back on.

the first night i started having some coughing spells so slept without it the last couple of hours. i did keep it on most of the time the 2nd night.

i have been working some odd hours so i havent really been able to go to bed at a normal time.

I have felt a little different....not sure i feel better or just feel different.

anyway- i will keep at it and trying to get used to it

Good job Marty!!

It will take time to adjust and just try to make it a little longer each night. If you have specific concerns, please post them.

You have to breathe through your nose and keep your mouth shut.....even with a full face mask. Make sure your nasal passages are clear and you can breathe before going to bed and if your humidity is too high and warm, it'll also close up your nasal passages.

Don't be afraid to adjust that humidifier up or down as needed. That is the entire idea, to be able to adjust it to the level of humidity that is most comfortable for you.
