Milestone: First night without leaks!

I started my apap therapy on 18-Dec-07. Started out with Comfortfull 2 FFM because DME did not stock the Quattro. Was not a good mask for me. Received my Quattro FFM on 21-Dec-07. Much better but always started leaking aroung 3-4am. I tweaked and tweaked with straps, position, hose management, etc.... Never a good nights sleep but determined to make this work.

Then, last night I had an epiphany (known as a brain fart to us common folk). I used Mack's Silicone Ear Plugs. I found a pack in a drawer that we had left over from taking our kids to an Aerosmith concert years ago. Followed instructions on this site and it worked... even with my facial hair. I placed the putty all around the seal with the exception of the bottom section that would cover my beard/ goatee (whatever you call it). The seal was great. Still woke up a few times but did not have the urge to remove the mask until the alarm went off (this was a first for me).

Now is the time for some very smart entrepreneur to invent specialized CPAP mask putty. Maybe think of a better marketable name and of course make it less expensive than Mack's.

I will check my results tonight on encore viewer but I suspect they will be much better.

Congrats! It's a wonderful thing to have a milestone like that acheived - what a great feeling. I prefer the brain fart to the epiphany
