Pressure increase for clogged nostirls

Post by kjarels » Wed Jan 09, 2008 7:11 am

If your nostrils stay clogged even with the strips that you put across your nose and with a saline rinse, should you increase your air pressure to compensate for that??

Kenny,

I have an AUTO, so my pressure has increased a couple of nights when I was REALLY stuffy, and it did not help whatsoever. There was just no way air was making it through there! Of course my max pressure is only at 10, so I can't say beyond that. (But it did almost seem like the air was making the stuffiness worse.)

You mentioned a saline rinse. Check and make sure there are no preservatives or additives to that, because I was getting stuffier using my saline rinse, and I went to Simply Saline brand, with nothing else added, and I did not have the same reaction to that.

Just my 2 cents worth.

Good luck,
Gail

How high do you have your humidifier set? Usually, if I have enough humidity, no matter how stuffy, if I lay there breathing as well as I can despite being stuffy (and occasionally taking a gasp of air thru my mouth as needed) the stuffiness will begin to clear and I can sleep the rest of the night.

By using radiofrequency

Post by Rich03079 » Wed Jan 09, 2008 12:07 pm

By using radiofrequency I did this for improvement.

By using radiofrequency in sleep apnea surgery, the volume of soft tissue of the nasal turbinates, soft palate or tongue can be reduced. A significant advantage of radiofrequency treatment is its precision in targeting tissue. The treated tissue remains within 60-90 degrees Celsius, so heat dissipation to the surrounding tissues is limited, thus minimizing excessive tissue injury and complications.
