UMFF problem

Post by murried2 » Fri Jan 04, 2008 8:27 am

The other night, the swivel elbow on my mask came off. I can't for the life of me figure out how to get it back on. I've re attached it, but it's not "locking" in. I have no idea how it came apart either.

What should I do?

UMFF problem

I took a look at the Ultra Mirage Full Face mask.
If you look at it from the inside you will see a thing that looks like it has "ears" pointing down to the 4 and 7 positions on the clock.
In the one I have here, if I pull those two tabs apart gently they let the swivel elbow come out.
Perhaps you need that clip to hold the swivel in place.

I hope that helps.
I can send you a photo of the clip if that helps you. Just email me.

The same thing happened to me and my UMFF once. Swivel elbow came off in the middle of the night.

Like Karen says, there's a little clip that holds it together.

It didn't some off at the opening on the mask. It came off the valve frame. The membrane is still attached to the elbow. I can't get the elbow to lock into the valve frame. Is there a special clip for it too?

Clip UMFF

Post by Pad A Cheek » Fri Jan 04, 2008 12:48 pm

Ok I looked at the part you are talking about. If you take the clip loose inside the mask, then the part that comes loose off the mask is the part you need.
On that piece the swivel elbow will snap back into the slots. After you snap that back in place, then put it back into the mask and put the inside clip back on it.
You have to take the part off because you cannot get the tabs all the way back into the slots with the frame of the mask in place.
Look at the pieces on the link above to see what I mean.

I hope this helps.
