Opus 360 nasal pillow mask
Anybody using this mask - Fisher & Paykel Opus 360 Nasal Pillows Mask??
How do you like it? From the ads it looks like it would be great and allow you to sleep in any position. Is it comfortable?? Thanks for any info.

I only started on APAP 2 weeks ago so I am still a noob, and I use this mask and love it, no leaks once set properly, took me a few nights to find the proper way to have the strap tight enough but not too tight, once I found the right settings it almost like if I don't wear any mask (I could cut out the overhead straps since it does nothing for me, hanging loose!).
Oh and since the hose swivells in any direction I just let it loose and it turns the right direction when I move (I am a side sleeper)
Very easy to clean up.
The first few days my nares and nostrils did hurt quite a bit (mask too tight), even after only 30min of use but after a few days it doesn't hurt anymore (I guess we need to tough it up). I do have marks on my face on the morning for maybe 1h (but I ordered PAD a CHEEK for that)
I also use some nose lubricant (Secaris (same a Rhenaris or something)) and it does seem to help (then again maybe not but I don't want to stop just in case).
Anyway, I adore this mask (note that I have never used other masks though aside from a titration nasal mask long ago).

DanGr

I have had this mask a little over a month and find it to be the best mask I've tried so far. I am currently at 11 cm/h2o. I have worn it at auto 10-15 cm/h2o with no problems. At first, I had irritation in my nares because I wasn't used to wearing nasal pillows. I use Ayr gel every night on the inside and outside of my nose and started out sleeping with it as long as possible. If I would wake up with irritation, I'd simply switch over to my Activa nasal mask. After doing this for a time, I am now able to use it all night long. My numbers are much better with this mask. I don't know if it is because there is less surface to seal or the air blowing directly in my nose, but I am definitely getting better treatment with it. I do occasionally have leaks that require me to reset the pillows during the night. Overall though, I love this mask and will do whatever it takes to make it work because it is lightweight and much more comfortable than the myriad of others I've tried over the last two years. Once I set the headgear, I have not had to readjust it and it is easy to slip on and off without fooling with the velcro straps. I am a side sleeper also and do well with it with minimal need for readjustment with turning. The only drawback I see is that unlike some other interfaces you can't have two different size pillows if your nares are slightly different sizes. I have slotted nares and wear the small pillows and one nare seems prone to have the leak causing me to have to reposition. Otherwise, I love it. Did I say I love it enough??? lol Of course, YMMV since we all have different facial features, preferences etc.
I have been using the Opus since it was first introduced and absolutely love it. I run my hose over my headboard and the swivel lets me turn over without even feeling the mask. It is the first nasal pillow mask that I could use without having to switch between it and a nasal mask to give my nares a break. In part this is due to the softer pillows, but I think it is more due to how well the pillows fit. I am a side sleeper and I can actually snuggle into my pillow without it breaking the seal.
Ofcourse masks do differ for people but I highly recommend this one. I haven't had to modify it in any manner to use it. As most know I have tried over 17 different masks until I found this one.

I haven't tried this mask but do have some questions.
How do you deal with the hose going up the side? It looks like it would be impossible to sleep on that side due to the hose.
How is this mask different from the Swift? Has anyone compared it to the Swift?
I like the Swift but left the hose down instead of routing it up. It seemed like minor movements would dislodge the pillows.

Actually in my case I don't set it up for a specific side or overhead (although you have a velco strap to do so if you wish). I instead let it hang freely and when I side sleep it goes over my shoulder (and barely touches it). The swivell works very well, I think that is the best thing about it.sleepycarol wrote: How do you deal with the hose going up the side? And now here is my secret, a very simple secret; it is only with the heart that one can see rightly, what is essential is invisible to the eye.

I got the original Opus last April and the Opus 360 about a month ago. I find the pillows fit a lot better on the Opus 360. However, the cheek straps leave marks on my face all morning long. I ordered Pad A Cheeks and they help. My other favorite mask is the Optilife. The cheek straps are softer and the pillows are adjustable. I alternate between the two masks. My nares do get sore sometimes.
There are a few different pictures at this site, we get an idea of what it looks like when we let the tube freely float around (not advertizing the site, I just couldn't find good pictures anywhere else!):

Note: In Canada and maybe elsewhere in the world this mask does not have '360' in the name, it is only called Opus. The new mask code as far as I know is HC482A (while the old one was HC482). You can also see the differences between both here:
