Hello all. I was recently diagnosed with OSA (AHI of 33). Was just issued my Resmed S8 Compact CPAP machine. I have used it for two nights thus far and have already experienced remarkable results.
While browsing through other threads here, I see that many folks are able to view their stats from their night of sleep.
I was wondering if anyone here could tell me how to pull my stats from my S8 machine. From the standard menu, it does not appear there are any options listed.
Any help would certainly be appreciated.
Pulling Sleep Stats from Resmed S8 Compact
Compact does not record any stats except for compliance (how many hours you wore it). In the Resmad line you must have at least the Elite or the Vantage. Sorry!

Jeff. no longer than you've had the machine, perhaps you could get the DME to swap an Elite for it. Worth a try.

DEFINITELY INSIST on the Compact being exchanged for the Resmed S8 Elite. The Humidaire 3i integrated humidifier you probably also received is compatible w/the Elite as well.
Call your insurance company and just ask what local DME CPAP suppliers they are contracted with. Hopefully, you have the option of more than just this current DME supplier. If so, that gives you additional leverage and you can shop the other suppliers. Most would rather upgrade you to the Elite at no additional charge than lose the reimbursement all together. No need to explain to insurance that you want to upgrade.
But do it NOW! The first 30 days or so are critical.

Jeff,
Slinky is right. Return it fast! My dme sold me a compact saying it was top of the line. I found this message board and learned otherwise. I returned it for an S8 Elite. I told them I needed a machine that would give me the ability to check my results. They informed me how much more money it was going to be. Turned out to be a small amount when I compared it to all the "extras". Knowledge is power. It's YOUR insurance, it's your co pay. I was lucky that my ins. would let me change dme's which I did three times. I now have one that is great.
All the best, Pat

Hi, you can also get the sleep dr. to write you a prescription for the elite or vantage if you have problems with the dme. I was able to change my resmed tango for an elite by asking the dr. for it. It was still in the renewal stage and I had no problems with the dme once they had the doctor's orders.
I am happy I can now view my stats and I am happy with my resmed elite. Insist on it, but Slinky is right, don't wait to do it.
Good luck,
Deglorious

This is easier if you have the option of more than one local DME supplier but don't cave in too quickly at having to pay any additional to switch from the Compact to the Elite.
Insurances do not pay by individual brand and model, but rather by insurance (HCPCS) code. All CPAPs from bare-bones, compliance data only capable thru fully data capable autoPAPs are classed as the exact same HCPCS code and are reimbursed by insurance at the exact same contracted price. The autoPAPs and the fully data capable straight CPAPs cut into the DME supplier's profit margin so they prefer to provide the bare-bones xPAPs.
How are you doing w/your mask? I hope you are sleeping well w/it and with your CPAP. Good luck getting the Elite!!!
