Hybrid owners and aficionados

Post by techno-snoreus » Thu Dec 27, 2007 4:05 pm

Those of you who know me know that I am a die hard Resmed UMFF wearer. Unfortunately, I got a pimple on the bridge of my nose that has now morphed into a full blown sore that will not heal. I have had the good fortune of receiving a hybrid from a relative that couldn't stand it and I'm hoping that using it will help my nose to heal faster. But for the life of me, I can't get it to fit right. WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?

I know, I know, the search function is my friend. I've searched and waded thru many posts to no avail.

Please help.

Please post all suggestions on how to choose the proper size, adjustments, etc.

Thank you,

Technosnoreus

Here is a link that may or may not help. I found it a few days ago when I was searching for more info on the Hybrid. You can check it out.

http://www.respcare.com/hybrid/video_index.htm

There is a printable Fitting Tips guide that is very helpful.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the link. Several weeks ago I purchased a hybrid on cpapauction and tried it one night and knew something was wrong -- I couldn't get thing to set on my face right and it felt funny. I will have to play with it using the guide and see if I can get it to work.

Once I got my Hybrid basically fitted, I knoticed a quiet high pitched whistle coming from the corners of my mask near my cheeks. The funny thing is by tightening the opposite side of where the sound was it would make the sound go away. Be patient and give this mask a good chance, I did and am very pleased with it.....I go back and forth from my UMFF and My Hybrid. I enjoy it so much I may go that route upon my next insurance eligibility.
I might have the paper work handy if you think that will help you any....I think the tips video is your best bet.

Richard

The thing that bothered me the most initially was it felt labored breathing through my nose. After some minor adjustments and mask time I got it to feel more natural. I actually sleep better with this mask than I have with any other....so far. One of the sides of my nose pillows leaked, a little goo around the seat took care of that.

Richard.

First, where's rooster? ...kidding...
OK,
1. Do you have the new headgear??
It's grey on the inside and black on the outside. If yours is all black, Innomed/Respcare is easy to get free stuff from as long as no one has ruined it for us....

2. If you have the new headgear, WATCH THE VIDEO that come with the box.
if you don't ave the video, than like I said...
Innomed/Respcare is easy to get free stuff from as long as no one takes advantage and ruins it for us.

3. If you have watched the video, have the new headgear and are ready to go down for the night, start with medium, medium pillows, PUT PILLOWS IN FIRST LIKE THE VIDEO SHOWS and chin cup area last snug up against your face and tighten, but NOT TOO TIGHT. Just comfy.

4. to take on an off after you have found the right size pillows and all, just unhook one side. Makes it easy to put back on every night.
I love mine. Going on my third one soon. I can get a free mask every 90 days but just don't see anything else out there worth bothering with. Once you get this mask down, you'll sleep like an angel.
