Are you a CPAP user?

First suggestion would be to go to a doctor.

The best line of treatment for blurred vision headache paves on the basis of your case history. Even if it is the first time headache, your physician alone is the best judge.

Your headache could be a forerunner to some other serious types of ailments. Some headaches cause blurred vision, along with other symptoms. A headache with blurred vision can indicate a serious situation and should take you to the doctor immediately. I would request a CAT scan as my first course of action.

If you are a CPAP user, I know my husband's mask blew in his eye one night and he had blurred vision. But I think you are talking about a chronic pain.

Take care,
Marquita

Blurred vision and headache are also symptoms of a stroke.

ER ASAP

I'd go to the ER. My doctor yelled at me for not going once. Well, he didn't actually raise his voice, but he got very stern and definitive. He said that the ER people (and him) would rather have it be a false alarm than have me be dead. The next time it happened I did go. It turned out to be a gall bladder problem. This is a problem that can be life threatening.

Does the blurred vision proceed the headaches? I have had migraine headaches since I was a teenager. I have what they call a 'common' migraine. This means that I don't have visual auras (which is the 'classical' migraine). However, my vision does get a little blurry about an hour or so before a migraine attack. If this sounds familiar, you need to see a neurologist.

However, if this has just started for you then I would 100% agree with the other post and get to an ER. Sudden onset of blurred vision and headaches is nothing to play around with. It could indicate something serious like a brain embolism. Better not to gamble with your life...

BINGO -
Echoing everyone elses - get to an ER or doc. Esp. if this is something different for you.
How could we possibly assess your situation w/o past medical history.

For me it was a brain aneurysm - now repaired but when I get that way now, I know my AHI is up.
fwiw- my aneurysm erupted while I was sleeping, likely just having a few more apneas.

They say you c/o the worst headache of your life - who goes to the ER for a headache??? Get my point?

The BEST advice has already been provided = Get to the ER, Pronto.
Good Luck,

Suffering from blurred vision and having headache!

Post by justin » Wed Dec 26, 2007 11:02 am

Hi,
I recently came across a site called http://www.healthpads.com/ that provides health pads. Health Pads, also commonly known as footpads or Detox Pads help to relieve fatigue, joint pain, headaches, skin rashes and many other health problems naturally. It’s very simple to use and follow. You could try hope this will work out for you.
See you, Bye!

I seriously doubt that these would help her problem. I am always skeptical of these so called cures. In my mind they are right up there with the old time remedies that snake oil salesmen used to pitch. If they cured all the maladies that they claim don't you think doctors would tell their patients about them? Same thing with all the so called diet fad pills that make you slim and trim -- yeah right -- slim and trim in the pocketbook.

For every ill there is some crackpot ready to take you money -- I want scientific proof and studies before I risk my health.

I am NOT against home remedies and use many of them myself --most of these have stood the test of time and have been handed down for generations. Many of the true home remedies have merit and with some research you can typically find those that really work and those that are riddled with folk lore.

At the risk of sounding repetitive, yes - see a doctor, especially if this is something new for you (sounds like it is). If nothing else, we CPAPers as a group are NOT in denial. If your body is telling you something , listen to it.

Please come back and visit often. We'd like to hear how you make out with this issue.

Well said Jasper!!!

I totally agree that seeing a doctor is the smart thing to do!! We are the only ones that can take care of the one body that we have. No one can do it for us and we MUST listen to what our bodies are telling us.

Several years ago my mother-in-law came over and was complaining of not feeling well. We asked if she need to go to the er and she said no it was just the flu as she was nauseated and not feeling well. She had some minor chest pain she blamed on congestion. She left after a couple of hours (she lived across the street from us) and in the night she managed to stumble back across the street and couldn't catch her breath!! As she struggled to breath we called 911 and when the emergency team arrived we told them about her not feeling well that afternoon. They gave her oxygen and she died on the way to the hospital with a fatal coronary attack. I have often wondered if we would have taken her earlier in the day if she still wouldn't be alive.

I hope things are okay with emilyjem!!! I often thought of her yesterday.

I had better than 20-20 vision all my life, then one day when I was age 45 it was like flipping a switch, instant blurred vision.

Bummed me out, TV was going blurry when viewed from the kitchen. I went to the doctor, referred to a Neuro, referred to Neurology at UCSF, went to Eye Doctor had an exam, needed glasses, really bad at dusk.

I did have a bunch of TIA's at the time (at least 1 a week) followed by 2 strokes, best thing you can do for your blurred vision is begin taking a ecotrin aspirin every day, see a eye doctor and check your blood pressure and cholesterol.

Last suggestion:

Get a new 42" Plasma HDTV, it makes up for that blurred vision.
